The 54lb. "stock" crankshaft weight that was required by the 2 newly recruited "tech" men for the T&L class is BOGUS.  Thorough investigation into the ACTUAL weights of stock chevy cranks have been carried out by three different independent machine shops, auto shops, and at least SIX GM cranks were weighed and compared.  NOT one was the same in weight and NONE weighed near the 54lbs required.  The average was 52.4 lbs.  It was set in place to find something that was going to discount the #96.

For those that race and/or build engines you know that a crankshaft that is purchased or altered to be a ''light weight'' piece is at the maximum weight of 48lbs. and descending from there.

See Yall Soon!

just think that it sucks that they got dqed but it was also funny.so they can just build it illegal and get they tech men  to prolong the person that paid the protest money. and how much did that crankshaft weigh i think someone said 49 lbs. that is considerd light weight

how do you get that the tech's are crooked they busted the  guy????    they did what the protest said to check..... not just the  bottom end ..  the win was taken away  by all the other stuff that was found not to be stock!!!!!!!! then they lost the protest by having an illegal crank witch is what was protested

The illegal cars are my biggest complaint about both tracks!!  They DO NOT TECH THEM!!  Obviously, they don't care who is legal and who isn't, as long as they get an entry fee and a car to add to the count.
I don't have a clue why they waste their time coming up with a rule book, because they haven't enforced any rules all year!!! One of the vintage cars had a mirror saturday night and when management was told, he said, he had already teched the vintage cars, he was done with them!  So in other words, tough crap for you that just got beat by a freaking cheater and WE DON'T CARE!!

gofast....no im not illegal ..cause i don't drive but im there every race day and all i hear is this one is illegal this one is illegal.....and the main ones complaining about being illegal are illegal themselves....im just saying someone is always going to complain about this ...and MOST of the time it is the ones that get beat (and are illegal themselves)....I enjoy watching a good clean race but damn all the Drama every week.... i would just like to see both tracks have the same rules for EVERYONE ....racing should be a sport of fun and excitment not drama  drama drama...just saying

i guess i should have not posted at all since i dont have a dog in this fight....but like i said i do like a good clean race  yes gofast  some are legal and do win  and when they do the illegals are complaining....catch my drift

I agree with that mubchkin!!Drama drags everything down and takes the focus off what we came there for,to race ,have fun and put on a show for the fans.Tha track needs to tech the cars from the begenning of the season to try to keep them in line, instead of turning their heads and looking the other way because they are afraid of making one car mad and not coming back.and true I'm sure you could find something illegal on almost every car out there,They got a saying, you ain't illegal till you get caught.People dont want to see the same cars run off from the pack and win every week.
a good FAIR tech man would do alot for both tracks

The post was just for clarification but I see that it does no good.  No one suggested ''crooked'' tech men; just the additional men called upon to oversee the proceedure.  We were not the only ones disrespected during those hours.

Also, I find it outrageous that with ALL in attendance the facts are so far off.  But then again!

By the way, 5140 rods,  What is the forging material used by GM in the LT1/LT4 5.7 rods used after 1996 made of and where is the "balance pad".  Some are not doing there homework I see!

For all that revel in my oversights,  rest ASSURED the questionable are no longer doubtful and the #96 will be stronger than ever.  Can't wait!!!!

i think that is everybodys biggest problem.maybe if there was a real tech man maybe a racer wouldnt win the championship and on the same night get caught cheating wonder whats up with that makes everyone wounder why they finally did break him down.i understand someone has protested him before and they didnt tear him down, they came up with a lame excuse. devil

so i guess that the 96 will still be illegal like it always has.maybe someone will finish better or in front of u!so why do they even have a rule book like someone else said in a recent post.

lt-1 lt-4 is not stock for the class or the engine being used...... if all you want to do is argue and make grandiose statements you missed your calling of being a lawyer!!!!!!!

THE VERY FIRST RULE FOR ENGINE IN THE RULE BOOK .(ENGINE MUST BE FOR MODEL OF CAR USED. STRICTLY STOCK.)      THAT SAYS IT  ALL.....  I SAID THAT NIGHT  52LB. CRANK.  YOU DID NOT HAVE NOR COULD YOU USE LT1 LT4 ENGINE OR PARTS. YOU HAD NO GM CASTING # ON THE CRANK ,RODS.....  RULE SAYS STOCK . NOTHING ABOUT STOCK REPLACEMENT.   MY SUGGESTION IS TO DROP IT . NOTHING ELSE CONCERNING  THE NON ALLOWED PARTS ON THIS ENGINE WERE BROUGHT TO LIGHT....   AT THE END OF THE RULES SECT. PAGE 19(ANYTHING NOT SPECIFIED IN THE RULES MUST BE STOCK. )   IE CRANK ,RODS
